Wood Buffalo National Park is a massive 44,802-square-kilometer park located in northern Alberta and the Northwest Territories and is the largest national park in Canada. Established in 1922, Wood Buffalo National Park is home to a variety of wildlife, including the rare and endangered whooping crane, and one of the world’s largest beaver populations. It is also important to the cultures of the Plains Cree, Chipewyan, and Métis.
