History

Beaver Brook became the first reservation in the Metropolitan Parks System after the system’s establishment in 1893. National Park Service Olmsted historical interpretation describes Charles Eliot’s role and the Olmsted firm’s work on paths and two footbridges during the 1890s. DCR manages the reservation.
