Harkness Memorial State Park was once the summer residence of Edward and Mary Harkness, wealthy philanthropists who donated the property to the state of Connecticut. The centerpiece of the park is Eolia, a 42-room Renaissance Revival mansion named after the Greek god of winds. The mansion is surrounded by beautifully manicured gardens that feature a variety of plants and flowers.
