Choose the season and the correct sector

Fees, hours, and seasonal access

Check the Saint-Juste construction notice before planning a through-hike. Overnight routes affected by the bridge work require direct arrangements with the park.

Use the official approach, not a generic shortcut

Follow Sépaq's sector directions. Confirm the access road for your reserved campground before departure. Do not assume that a line shown by a navigation app is a passable public approach.

For a lake outing, match the route to your experience and conditions. Rental operations and water shuttles are seasonal. Confirm the return arrangement before starting a one-way paddle.

Protect the waterways and eagle habitat

On the Touladi waterways, wash personal boats before launching. Do not land on the islands or approach within 300 m of the bald eagle nest there. Leave archaeological material undisturbed and use designated paths. Dogs are allowed only in authorized areas.

Book the route as well as the overnight stay

Arrange camping, canoe-camping, or backpacking accommodation through Sépaq. For long-distance routes and transport requests, contact the park directly. A booking in one sector does not establish access through a closed bridge or an operating ferry.

The official activity and accommodation guide identifies the available options. Buy park access separately unless your product explicitly includes it.

Three entrances with different approaches

The park is reached from the Autoroute 85/Route 185 corridor. Use the official entrance coordinates and the sector directions together:

• Squatec: 47.7901468, -68.756501. This approach serves the Petit-Lac-Touladi reception area and routes toward Anse-à-William.
• Saint-Juste: 47.674098, -68.794735. Check the footbridge restriction before planning to cross on foot.
• Dégelis: 47.597332, -68.659248. Use this sector for the Des Grands-Pins campground.

For Des Grands-Pins, the access road leaves Route 295 between kilometer markers 7 and 8. Do not substitute the Squatec campground approach.

Nearby parks on a road itinerary

République Provincial Park is south of the Québec border at 31 Isidore-Boucher Boulevard in Edmundston, New Brunswick. Parc national du Bic is a separate coastal stop off Route 132 near Rimouski. Both require their own entrance plan; neither is reached by following a lakeshore trail through this park.

Choose a short walk, a paddle, or a longer route

Montagne-du-Fourneau explores forest above the lake. At Grand-Lac-Touladi, the Curious-by-Nature route offers a 0.7 km family discovery circuit. Trail operation depends on season and weather.

Longer backpacking options use huts or rustic shelters, with transport arranged separately when needed. The Rivière-des-Mémoires route has a recurring conservation closure on a 600 m section from April 15 to June 15.

Canoeing connects the Touladi landscape with its human history. Fishing requires separate fishing rights and a provincial license; the park does not sell that license. Check the specific limits on personal craft before bringing a boat for fishing.

Seasonal visitor centers and rentals

Visitor centers provide different combinations of washrooms, shops, rentals, and picnic facilities. Anse-à-William and the other named centers have mobility access, but seasonal building closures still apply. Confirm the intended building and route rather than assuming every lakeshore facility offers the same service.

A protected landscape with a long human record

Québec's creation decree was published in November 2009. The park protects part of the Monts Notre-Dame natural region. More than 50 archaeological sites have been identified, connecting present-day interpretation with much older use of the waterways and surrounding land.

Bald eagles and lake habitats

Bald eagles use the park's habitats and require space around nesting areas. Forests, lakes, and wetlands support a varied animal community. Watch from established visitor routes. On the Touladi waterways, respect the island-landing and nest-protection restrictions.
