Sunken Meadow State Park is a 1,261-acre (5.1 km2) state park on the north shore of Long Island in the hamlet of Kings Park in the Town of Smithtown, Suffolk County, New York. It is composed of three peninsulas of land which extend into the Long Island Sound. This park is composed of a mix of meadows, forest and shoreline. It offers 4 distinct trails, 3.3 miles of white sand beach, and numerous picnic areas, some with grills.

The park has a long history of providing recreational activities for Long Island's residents. The Sunken Meadow area was originally used by the Shinnecock and Matinecock Native Americans for fishing and hunting. In modern times, the area has long been popular for fishing, swimming, boating, and sunbathing. In May of 1924, the Sunken Meadow area, along with neighboring hills were transferred to New York State by the Smithtown School District. In 1928, Sunken Meadow State Park was officially opened to the public.

Today, Sunken Meadow State Park is a popular year-round destination, offering a variety of activities for visitors to enjoy. In the warmer months, the park offers spectacular views of Long Island Sound and the north shore islands as well as opportunities for swimming, fishing, boating and sunbathing. Anglers can take advantage of the park's abundance of fish, including winter flounder, striped bass, bluefish, scup, and fluke. Boaters can launch their vessels at one of the four launch sites and enjoy the beautiful waters of Long Island Sound.

In addition to the beach, visitors can go hiking on one of the four trails. The park is home to two miles of walking trails along the bluffs, with spectacular views of Long Island Sound and Connecticut's shores. The trails are of varying difficulty and lead to two picnic areas, a large pavilion, grills, and picturesque vantage points.
