Table Mountains National Park in Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Poland - map and visitor information

Research checked: . Check linked official notices before travel.

Table Mountains National Park, Park Narodowy Gór Stołowych, protects sandstone plateaus and rock corridors near Poland’s border with Czechia. Its two principal ticketed routes are Szczeliniec Wielki and Błędne Skały. Plan their time slots before arrival, and arrange parking separately. This is the Polish park in Lower Silesia, not Table Mountain National Park in South Africa.

Two different sandstone walks

  • Szczeliniec Wielki: the designated visitor route explores the upper sandstone landscape. A visit to the shelter before the paid route is a different access choice.
  • Błędne Skały: the rock maze has its own entrance ticket and hourly limit. Driving to its upper parking area is optional.
  • Rock layers and erosion: the nearly horizontal sandstone beds help explain the plateau shapes and corridors you encounter.

Fees, hours, and seasonal access

TopicDetails
Szczeliniec Wielki routePLN 16 per person standard or PLN 8 reduced. This is a ticket for this particular visitor route.
Błędne Skały routePLN 16 per person standard or PLN 8 reduced, with a separate booking from Szczeliniec. Eligible free-entry visitors must obtain a zero-price ticket online. Check the current ticket rules for eligibility.
Błędne Skały upper parkingThe listed car or motorcycle entry charge is PLN 40. It does not replace the visitor route ticket. Vehicle access follows a separate timetable.
Autumn opening hoursBoth visitor routes are listed as open 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. from October 1 through November 11. Other seasons have different schedules. Check route and vehicle hours before traveling.
Other trail restrictionsThe park’s posted closure list includes the blue Dańczów–Krucza Kopa–Darnków section and the green Kształtna Łąka–Niknąca Łąka section. Check the complete closure notice when planning beyond the two main attractions.

Allow for wet steps and confined passages

Take care on wet or icy rock and steps, including shaded sections on Szczeliniec. Plan against the route’s actual terrain and your party’s mobility. A short distance on a map does not describe the effort of negotiating a rocky path. Follow barriers and posted directions rather than climbing outside the permitted route.

Keep the rock habitats intact

Stay on designated trails and do not camp. Dogs are prohibited on the Błędne Skały and Szczeliniec Wielki visitor routes; other permitted dog routes follow separate restrictions. Do not collect plants or fungi. Drone flights require authorization under the park’s rules, and organized groups need a qualified Sudetes mountain guide.

Use a dated entry time

Hourly limits are 400 visitors for Szczeliniec Wielki and 350 for Błędne Skały. Buy the correct date and time through the park before arrival. A walk-up ticket may be unavailable when that hour sells out. Save the ticket on your phone or print it before traveling, since downloading it at the entrance may fail. Confirm change and cancellation conditions before purchase.

Approaches from the Kłodzko area

The park lies in the Middle Sudetes in the northwestern Kłodzko area. Kudowa-Zdrój is the headquarters town; Karłów is a useful named base for the Szczeliniec area. Use the official route map to separate an attraction entrance from a car park. At Błędne Skały, the YMCA parking area offers a lower parking alternative for visitors who plan to approach on foot.

Nearby protected landscapes

  • CHKO Broumovsko: this Czech protected landscape adjoins the region across the border; the Police nad Metují and Machov area offers road approaches.
  • Śnieżnicki Park Krajobrazowy: plan a separate drive toward the Śnieżnik area in the southern Kłodzko region, using a named village trailhead.

Match the rock walk to your access needs

Choose one ticketed rock route or reserve separate slots for both with enough travel time between them. For a different access option, the park describes an approximately 400 m easier-access path at Błędne Skały. Its entrance is beside the bus parking area. This short path is designed for wheelchair and stroller use; it does not establish that the full rock maze is accessible.

Parking and an easier-access path

The upper Błędne Skały parking area and the lower YMCA area are separate options with separate arrangements. On Szczeliniec, the shelter stands before the paid route entrance. Review the easier-access path information if that option will determine your visit, and confirm any specific support you need with the park.

Sandstone protection in the Sudetes

The national park designation

Park Narodowy Gór Stołowych was established on September 16, 1993. It protects the area’s natural features and cultural heritage while managing visitor access to the sandstone landscape.

Life around the rocks and streams

Sandstone overhangs provide habitat for eagle owls, while streams support birds such as dippers and gray wagtails. The rock landscape is therefore habitat as well as a visitor attraction. Give animals space and avoid making noise around the cliffs.
