Arizona Beach State Recreation Site is on Oregon's southern coast near Port Orford. Oregon Parks and Recreation Department manages its beach, wetlands, and seasonal group camp. You can visit for the day year-round. For an overnight trip, book the group camp within its May–September season.

Fees, hours, and seasonal access

Beach and water safety

Shelter from wind does not make the ocean safe. Watch for sneaker waves. Stay off drift logs and keep clear of unstable bluffs. Read the official beach safety guidance. Supervise children near the pond and creeks. OPRD advises using a life jacket for water activities.

Protect the wetlands and woodland

Give wildlife space. Buy firewood locally or use certified heat-treated wood to reduce the spread of invasive insects. Check fire restrictions before using the group fire pit. Its rules require campers to keep a full five-gallon bucket of water available during use.

Booking the group camp

Use the authorized Arizona Beach booking page or call 800-452-5687. Group sites are outside Oregon's same-day reservation program. Arrange the stay at least 24 hours ahead and confirm the applicable booking terms. A group reservation does not make the adjacent beach access private.

Maps, location, and access

Find the site off U.S. 101 near Port Orford, Oregon. Mussel and Myrtle creeks pass through the property east of the highway. Use the map in the official park profile to distinguish the beach from the pond and group camp.

Nearby parks

Humbug Mountain State Park is north along U.S. 101. Otter Point State Recreation Site is farther south near Gold Beach. Both are separate road stops. Check current trail notices before adding a hike at Humbug Mountain.

Beach walks, birdwatching, and youth fishing

Combine a beach walk with time watching the wetlands. Arizona Pond fishing is for anglers age 17 and younger. For trout fishing, children age 11 and younger do not need a license; ages 12–17 need a youth license. Check ODFW's youth license requirements and current fishing regulations before the trip.

Group camp facilities

The group camp has a 25-person limit. It accepts up to 10 RVs shorter than 30 feet, or up to 20 vehicles for tent camping. The access route passes under an overpass with 13 feet 6 inches of clearance; account for rooftop equipment. Picnic tables are provided, but RV hookups are not. Water and vault toilets are away from the camping area, so plan to carry supplies. Showers are at Humbug Mountain State Park, rather than at the group camp, and are free with proof of an Arizona Beach reservation. Digging and other ground disturbance are prohibited at the group camp.
