Warren Dunes State Park is a beautiful nature reserve located on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan in Michigan’s Berrien County. It is the most visited state park in Michigan and has been a part of the Michigan Park System since 1920s when it was purchased from the Kincheloe family who owned it for a few generations. The park is six miles long with 3 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline and 690 acres of dune fields and forests. Warren Dunes is known for its stunning scenic dunes, which are some of the highest dunes along the entire Lake Michigan shoreline.
The park offers a variety of activities and experiences to explore. For those looking to relax, there is camping, swimming, picnicking and sunbathing opportunities throughout the park. Swimming is permitted in the Lake Michigan and in the water front swimming area located near the campground. There are two lifeguard protected beaches; Beach 1 and Beach 2. Beach 1 is located near the campground and is accessible from the main entrance. Beach 2 is more of a private beach accessible only by foot. Both beaches offer breathtaking views of the lake and are ideal for swimming, walking, and sunbathing.
