Słowiński National Park protects Baltic coastal landscapes in northern Poland, including dunes, lakes, forest and wetlands. Highlights
- Wydma Łącka: the park’s route network connects this dune with the coast and the Stara Łeba area.
- Forest lakes: Dołgie Małe and Dołgie Wielkie have designated routes and viewpoints.
- Czołpino museum: exhibitions connect the coast’s natural processes with the region’s cultural history.

Safety information
Dune routes require suitable walking equipment and enough fitness for the chosen distance. Keep to marked routes, particularly in the park’s extensive forests and wetlands. The authority also reports bird flu in the Rowy protection district and asks visitors to avoid contact with wild birds. Read the current visitor warnings before setting out.
Visit responsibly
Use only marked trails and educational paths. Do not enter strictly or actively protected areas with a dog unless it is an eligible assistance dog. The park publishes a separate map of routes available to visitors with dogs. Follow the official visitor rules rather than assuming that an open beach or road makes adjacent protected terrain unrestricted.
Reservations and permits
Check the chosen facility’s booking conditions separately from park admission. The Czołpino museum’s routine winter arrangements include advance group visits, but the current late-2026 notice changes its published opening pattern. Confirm a group visit with the park before arranging transport. A trail ticket does not include a transfer by electric vehicle, boat or other operator.
Maps, location, and access
The park lies in Pomeranian Voivodeship, in Słupsk and Lębork counties. Headquarters are at ul. Bohaterów Warszawy 1A in Smołdzino. That office is not the starting point for every dune walk. The official arrival information separates Czołpino, Kluki, Rąbka, Rowy and Smołdzino; some bus and rail connections are seasonal.
Nearby parks and protected areas
- Park Krajobrazowy „Dolina Słupi”: drive inland through the Słupsk area toward Gałąźnia Mała, where the authority identifies a roadside starting point for its nature path.
- Nadmorski Park Krajobrazowy: continue east along the coastal region toward Białogóra or Władysławowo for a separate protected landscape.
Things to do
Choose a coastal or lake walk from the official route list. Its Stara Łeba–coast–Wydma Łącka loop is 15.1 km, so do not mistake the full outing for a short stop at a dune. The Rowy–Dołgie Małe–coast loop is 16.4 km. Shorter visit formats can focus on a particular viewpoint or the museum, with the actual return route and facility hours checked first.
Facilities and accessibility
The park operates a museum in Czołpino and museum branches in Rąbka and Rowy. Czołpino’s displays cover both natural and cultural features of the coast. Transfers, towers and museum entry are separate services with their own schedules. Check the official admission information when combining several stops.
About the park
History
The national park began operating on January 1, 1967, under the regulation issued in November 1966. It became a UNESCO biosphere reserve in 1977. These designations reflect the conservation importance of a coast shaped by linked land, lake and marine environments.
Wildlife and habitats
Wetlands, forests and coastal waters support birds, bats, beavers and otters. The park also records marine mammals, including gray seals and harbor porpoises. Their presence is part of the protected ecosystem, not an assurance that they will appear during a beach walk.
