Torngat Mountains National Park is located in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Established in 2008, Torngat Mountains National Park covers a total area of 9,700 square kilometers (3,765 square miles) and is the country’s northernmost national park. Not only does the park offer stunning landscapes, but it also provides a rare glimpse into the culture and spirituality of the Inuit.
The park is primarily comprised of boreal forest, alpine-like tundra, and dramatic fjords, mountain valleys and towering peaks. The highest point of the Torngats rises to an impressive 1652 meters above sea level. The scenery is even more spectacular come mid-June when the surrounding area is transformed into a brilliantly colored ecosystem by the seasonal bloom of wildflowers.
